Phew it’s been a crazy few months. I have SERIOUSLY neglected my foodie duties and haven’t had a proper food post in way too long. Amidst all the madness a fellow blogger has brought me back to some very solid roots and got me cooking again!
Yahoo’s super fabulous Lyndsey Parker of Reality Rocks was kind enough to give me some props after my way too short lived Idol run (damn I wanted a taste of that Idol mansion)! 😉
Her new series Snackin’ with Sarah Sellers delivers a new snack idea before each live Idol show from now until the season finale in May. So, what this means is I’ve had to get my little tush in gear and start creating some fun filled recipes for your reality snacking pleasure.
Hey everyone! I thought I would give you a glimpse into what’s been keeping me busy over the last month or so. Check out a recent interview I did with Idol Phenomena.
Hey there IdolPhenomena followers I recently had the opportunity to ask IdolContestant: Sarah Sellers some questions about her Idol journey. Here is is what she had to say.
Alright I PROMISE a food post very soon!! Once I can pull myself up from all the recent Idol madness I will post some new recipes. In the meantime I thought I would post some pics and video from the New Orleans’ episode of American Idol. Needless to say, the experience has been beyond amazing! Thanks again to everyone’s unbelievable support and kind words. Keep watching. Hollywood here I come!!!
I can’t believe all of the amazing comments and views I’ve been getting since my audition aired on American Idol!!! You all are so amazing and it feels so good to know I have your support. I’ve been terrible about posting lately…obviously because of my busy schedule!! 🙂 So I will try my best to post more and keep everyone updated on what’s going on with me!!
In the meantime check out some of my other music sites!!! Let me know if there’s anything you want me to sing on YouTube…or any restaurants you think I should try!! I can’t wait to hear more from you guys. Lots and lots of love!!!
Hatch season is winding down and I have a few more recipes I wanted to share with you guys. I got another email from Central Market today announcing the arrival of red Hatch Chiles…so, I will probably have a few more evenings of experimentation before the season ends.
The first recipe I adapted from the leftovers of my Hatch Chile Beer Can Chicken dinner, but no worries, you can make the leftover ingredients in no time at all.
Happy Eating! Continue reading
We had such an amazing time in New Orleans, which I think is pretty evident considering I took over 300 pictures. There were so many photo ops that I couldn’t snap my photos fast enough. I don’t have the most high tech camera but I must say, my little Canon PowerShot has been pretty amazing to me so far.
So, I thought I would try something different and dedicate a blog post strictly to my photos from New Orleans. Enjoy, and feel free to post, or link, to some of your favorite photos! Continue reading
Ever since my trip to Boston last year I have been craving a lobster roll! Unfortunately, living in Texas you aren’t always thinking lobster for dinner, especially due to the steep price tag. Then every once in a while, like Christmas in August, a local seafood market offers up a fantastic reason to eat lobster for dinner…Lobster Sale!!!
Monday morning I came in to work with a lovely gift in my inbox, Central Market was having a sale on live Main Lobsters for $9.99 a pound. There’s only one thing you do when you get an email like that, you re-plan your meal for that evening, jump in your car, and get some lobster! So with a beautiful 1 3/4 pound live Main Lobster and Canadian Lobster Tail in tow the evening’s meal became crystal clear in my mind!!! Continue reading
A few weeks ago a representative from dishKarma.com contacted me about submitting a video for their blog. This is a great organization that partners with Feed America to help battle the fight against hunger in the U.S. For every 5th dish you upload to their site, a meal will be donated to Feed America, an organization that helps aid local food banks!
For the blog section of their site they are asking foodies from all over the US to submit their Ultimate Meal. There are no rules, you can select any restaurant(s) and combination of food from anywhere in the world. Continue reading
Since starting my blog last September I’ve been trying to think of different ways to incorporate not only my love of food, but of music as well. Music is a huge huge part of my life and I love sharing my experiences with people. MyTunes has been a really fun way to share what’s playing on my iPod, and to find out what other people are listening to. Between MyTunes and the food and music pairings I’ve been fortunate to grab the attention of a really great site! Continue reading
