Jay Z just released his new album, Magna Carta, and I am loving his collab with JT on the track Holy Grail! When I heard it I instantly thought it would be cool and different to mash it up with JT’s Mirrors. So check it out, share it with your friends and let me know what you think!
Let’s have a moment of silence for the return of Justin Timberlake to music……..
Awwwww yes! To sit here and attempt to describe my love for JT would be verbose and well, embarrassing…so let me just say I am a MASSIVE fangirl of the former ‘NSyncer. Much like the days of NKOTB t-shirts (specifically Joey McIntyre – yep, sheets, buttons, shirts…I had everything) and high pitch shrills, I grew up with JT from the Mickey Mouse club to FutureSex/LoveSounds to Suit & Tie. Oh and not to mention he is probably one of the best live performers I’ve ever been fortunate to see. Incredible! Okay drooling…done…
I’ve always held on to a shred of hope that Justin wasn’t done with music, just merely taking a break to get the creative juices flowing again. So when his countdown video premiered I was more than excited for the debut of his latest single. When I first heard Suit & Tie my expectations were so high I didn’t really know how to react. Is this what I expected? Do I love it? Am I disappointed? Countless plays later I can say I absolutely love it!
From the Timbaland laced intro, throwback R&B hook, and Justin’s Robin Thicke-esque vocals over JAY Z’s stellar appearance, yep it pretty much has everything I would expect from a JT track. So while everyone else hates on how “dated” the track might be or not “2013 pop” enough it is I’ll just sit back and enjoy one of my favorite artist’s return to music.
Ever since my trip to Boston last year I have been craving a lobster roll! Unfortunately, living in Texas you aren’t always thinking lobster for dinner, especially due to the steep price tag. Then every once in a while, like Christmas in August, a local seafood market offers up a fantastic reason to eat lobster for dinner…Lobster Sale!!!
Monday morning I came in to work with a lovely gift in my inbox, Central Market was having a sale on live Main Lobsters for $9.99 a pound. There’s only one thing you do when you get an email like that, you re-plan your meal for that evening, jump in your car, and get some lobster! So with a beautiful 1 3/4 pound live Main Lobster and Canadian Lobster Tail in tow the evening’s meal became crystal clear in my mind!!! Continue reading →
Sundays are one of my favorite days of the week for two main reasons, sleeping in and late morning brunch. I usually make it at home but lately Matt and I have been on a mission to find the best brunch in Dallas. Ok, so we only tried out two restaurants, but I’ve tried many breakfast places in the past and I feel very confident in my new found favorite.
A few weeks back we were eating at one of our favorite Mexican spots, Cyclone Anaya’s, when we saw their advertisement for Sunday brunch (their Lobster Enchiladas are AMAZING by the way). A few Sundays later we were back again. We ordered the bottomless mimosas ( around 12 bucks a person if I’m remembering correctly) the Crabmeat Omelet, and their amazing queso. With all of the chips we usually eat we decided to split the omelet and save room for more mimosas. Continue reading →
